OUR SCHOOLS

Sandy Springs has excellent public schools as attested to the many awards received by all of the schools throughout the years. The schools are arranged in two clusters such that the elementary and middle schools feed into the high schools. There are a total of eleven public schools in Sandy Springs with over 8,000 students: 7 Elementary Schools. 2 Middle Schools and 2 High Schools.

AFTER-SCHOOL ALL-STARS

After-School All-Stars School Year 2012-2013 show notable results.

These numbers reflect a comparison of the ASAS participants who are 97% economically disadvantaged to the entire school population including children from upper and middle class families.

1) 100% of 8th graders who participated in ASAS met or exceeded CRCT expectations for reading as compared with 98.70% of non-participants
2) 96.55% of 8th graders who participated in ASAS met or exceeded CRCT expectations for language as compared with 93.55% of non-participants
3) 95.35% of 7th graders who participated in ASAS met or exceeded CRCT expectations for science as compared with 87.76% of non-participants
4) 91.53% of 6th graders who participated in ASAS met or exceeded CRCT expectations for language as compared with 86.47% of non-participants
5) The 6th graders who participated in ASAS performed at or less than a percentage point below the non-participants of the entire student body in all areas of CRCT testing
