Sandy Springs Charter Middle School hosts special visit from Falcons
12/1/2010

In early November, Atlanta Falcon football players Erik Coleman, Kroy Biermann and John Abraham visited students in the After School All-Stars (ASAS) Atlanta program at Sandy Springs Charter Middle School.

The football players participated in enrichment activities with the students and then spoke about the importance of staying in school and getting a good education. Students were inspired by their message as the players enthusiastically answered their questions.

“The Atlanta Falcons visit inspired our ASAS students and encouraged them to graduate,” said Principal Kay Walker said. “Their message was well received and exciting for everyone!”
The After School All-Stars program is in its second year at Sandy Springs Middle and is a five-day-a-week, comprehensive after school program offering academic tutoring and enrichment activities to all students. More than 125 students are participating in the program this semester, which is supported by a partnership between Sandy Springs Education Force and the Georgia State University Research Foundation.
