Second Annual STEM Event
 - THE ROBOTICS GENERATION

9/27/11- At North Springs Charter High School, students explored hands-on robotic exhibitions. At a VIP reception, Dr. Lonny Johnson, CEO of Johnson Research and Development Co. and creator of the Super Soaker, and Dr. Neil Shah, robotic surgeon at St. Joseph's Hospital, addressed how STEM education and STEM careers are the essential pipeline for our students to have successful futures - and, ultimately, for our country to remain competitive in the global economy.

10/4/11 - At Riverwood International Charter School, students from the south city cluster had the opportunity to interact with the robotic exhibitions. Later in the evening all of the robot exhibits were opened to the Sandy Springs community for fun-filled Family Night! Presenters included Dr. Gil Weinberg Director of Music Technology at Georgia Tech, and Apache Pilot and US Army Major Tanya Markow, who focused on how leveraging robotics and technology education not only solves real-world problems, but also expands musical and artistic expression and creativity.

SSEF's Goal: To secure funding sources for robotic teams in all 11 Sandy Springs Schools!
