Program Overview

With the help of our community partners and donors, SSEF implements programs with a "whole student" focus: providing each individual with the opportunity to explore and develop new skills and interests that enriches daily life and supports future achievement and success.

SSEF programs strive to be:

• Inclusive: serving diverse populations equally results in an improved quality of education and life experience for everyone

• Results driven: providing oversight and evaluation of programs maintains the highest standards for program recipients, funders and for our community

SSEF is proud to announce "Reach for the Stars", a program to enhance student learning and interest in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics - STEM and "inspire students" to pursue STEM careers.  We coordinate programs and services in three primary areas.

Academic Support and Tutoring programs focus on decreasing the drop-out rate and increasing the graduation rate by targeting homework support and study skills training.

Life Skills and Empowerment programs seek to strengthen the self perceptions and personal aspirations of our youth by offering training that ranges from the development of self-esteem to the benefits of a healthy lifestyle.

Cultural and Social Enrichment services center on presenting real world experiences that prepare our youth to meet the challenges of life, career and citizenship in the 21st century. SSEF programs and services operate during the school day, after-school and throughout the summer, and are staffed by organizational professionals, community volunteers and teachers.
