Back to school!

Help Us Welcome Our Kids Back to School!
“You cannot get through a single day without having an impact on the world around you. What you do makes a difference, and you have to decide what kind of difference you want to make.”

Our 2016-2017 programs are gearing up! With your help, our Sandy Springs public schools can continue to improve! Since SSEF’s inception in 2008, student engagement is on the rise and our graduation rates have increased by 20% to 90%!

Just imagine how much more our schools and our students could accomplish if we all worked together to provide our least-advantaged children with the ladders they need to climb over barriers and reach their potential? Did you know that….
  • 30 cents a day ($100) pays for 2 college applications for a student who may be the first in their family to attend college or technical school.
  • $1 a day ($360) provides a school bus to take 50 middle school students to visit a college campus for the first time and see that attending college is possible.
  • $2.20 a day ($800) sponsors a child for one year of After School All Stars.
  • $4.10 a day ($1,500) supports a STEAM club at one of our 11 public schools.
If you donate $50 or more by November 30, your gift will be matched 3 to 1 by an Angel Donor to our after school programs. Every $1 you contribute to a SSEF program or event becomes $4!!! Don’t miss this incredible opportunity to multiply your gift’s impact, and remember to inquire with your company about matching your donation, too!

A Child Who Reads, Is a Child Who Succeeds!

Our Mini Libraries are located in five of our elementary schools to provide free books for children to take home. Research shows that when students have books at home and read for pleasure, their academics improve. Our books are running low!

School Supplies in Demand

From 2007 to 2016, the cost of school supplies has increased over 80%! For our financially vulnerable students, this is an overwhelming burden – and one that is often “picked up” by our teachers! Our Teachers’ Supply Closet, run in collaboration with the Community Assistance Center, helps defray this cost!

To give supplies: If you or your business have supplies, contact:
To make a donation: We are happy to buy the supplies for you! Just designate “Teachers’ Closet” on the form.
